Our TeamDavid Adcock – Chief executive Officer
David then worked as the National Director of World Vision Canada's NeighbourLink Program and Manager of World Vision Canada's Reception Centre. This position allowed him to understand communities across Canada. His experience at World Vision gave him a glimpse of unique regional diversity as well as common threads. In February 1998, David joined Yonge Street Mission as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. David's responsibilities not only included overseeing ministry programs, planning and operations but also street work as he led his team to reach out to the core of downtown Toronto through economic, social and spiritual care. Yonge Street Mission gave David insight into issues related to poverty in Canada's largest city. In the fall of 2009, David joined the team at ERDO as Chief Executive Officer. In many ways coming to ERDO solidifies his overall experience, bringing together international development, community development, justice and spiritual leadership. In 1988, David married Maria, who is currently an associate professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. They have two children, Rachael and Evan.

In addition to serving God through missions Kelvin often shares his faith through verse and art. He has been a contributing member of the Hamilton Spectator's Community Editorial Board and in February 2000 was awarded the Canadian Church Press Award of Merit for "I Was a Stranger And You Took Me In", a title which appropriately captures his life's passion and commitment to God's people who are most vulnerable and often forgotten.
Carol Froom, Director of Resource Development
Joining our team in September 2010, Carol brings over 25 years of experience in fundraising and communications. A graduate of the University of Toronto and Sheridan College, Froom started her career in the book publishing industry. In the late 1980's through the 1990's Carol held full time senior leadership and consulting roles at World Vision Canada (WVC). After leaving WVC and joining Bank of Montreal (BMO), she started her own writing and design firm. In 2000, Froom joined the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA), as Director of Development and contributed on a global level to their animal welfare fundraising activities. In 2005, Froom joined the Christian Children's Fund of Canada as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications and helped that organization grow its sponsorship and non-sponsorship base of donors. Froom is excited to use her skills in leading ERDO's development of funding resources and helping those in need. Over her career, Froom has been face to face with children and families in need in Asia, Africa and Latin America. "I've held sickly and emaciated children. I've seen the devastation of HIV/Aids and captured the heartbreaking life stories of parents , who despite their very best efforts, cannot afford to care for their children." "Despite the heartbreaking moments I've had, I've seen pockets of hope in the landscape of extreme poverty. I've seen the difference things like child sponsorship or micro-credit loans bring, and am excited to use my gifts to encourage higher levels of giving to reach even more people in need with the love of Christ and practical aid." Carol is married to Stephen Froom, publisher of "The Christian Ministry Sourcebook", and has three children. |
