Sri Lanka Flood ResponseDONATE NOW TO ERDO

Updated: July 18, 2017

little girl and backpackThere was a great need among the families affected by the floods and landslides in the Kegalle region; the children in these areas lost their school books and stationary items, and found it difficult to go to school. As most of these children came from impoverished households, they were in great need to find a way to return to school and resume their education. To support these children, our local program partner distributed 200 school packs in early July for students in the worst areas affected by the floods. Students from 32 schools benefited from this distribution. These areas were excluded from other relief efforts carried out by the government and other organizations.
