Rohingya Refugee Crisis

rohingya mom and two kidsExtreme violence in Myanmar has forced Rohingya families to flee the state. Homes and fields have been set on fire, family members have been killed and the intensity continues.

More than 600,000 Rohingya people have fled their homes and have poured into Bangladesh over the last four weeks to escape persecution. Over 1,400 children have arrived by themselves after witnessing the deaths of their parents and loved ones. The influx of refugees is expected to continue and the small region of Bangladesh does not have the capacity to support them.

Families are in urgent need of life-saving food assistance, water, sanitation, shelter, health and support.

ERDO, in partnership with Pentecostal Assemblies of Bangladesh (PAOB) will be providing life-saving food and clean water to Rohingya families who have fled to Bangladesh.

Project goal is to:

  • Provide food (rice, lentils, oil, salt, sugar) to over 8,000 households over the next six months
  • A $13.00 donation with matched government funding will provide five families with a 2-week basket of high nutrient food

Through our partnership with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, your donation will be matched 4 times. That means, your donation of $100, becomes $500 of life-saving food.
