Disaster in the Rohingya Refugee Camp

ERDO is providing emergency food and supplies to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, after a fire devestated a settlement.

Cox's Bazar Fire

A massive fire swept through the Rohingya Refugee Camp, located in Cox’s Bazar, on Monday, March 22nd. The fire started when a gas cylinder exploded. Many refugee shelters, made of bamboo and tarps, were set aflame and the fire spread rapidly, leaving 26,486 households devastated. Over 126,381 refugees lost everything.

Children have been separated from their families. 560 people are being treated for injuries and burns. We do not yet know how many lives have been lost.

ERDO will be assisting the Pentecostal Assemblies of Bangladesh to bring emergency relief kits to those who are most affected by the fire. These kits will include:

  • 10 kg of rice
  • 3 kg of sugar
  • A family mosquito net
  • A bed cover
  • Kitchen utensils for cooking

We are looking to raise $50,000 for the refugees in Bangladesh over the next several months. Thank you for working with us to ensure these vulnerable people are provided with resources in this difficult time.

Please assist these refugees, who are rebuilding their lives again after this traumatic event. Any donation will help the Rohingya people.
