Every cup of clean water matters!

1 in 10 people live without access to clean water. Today, you can give people a cup of drinking water through our WASH programs, which provide clean water, hygiene and sanitation to so many communities around the world.

Rohingya Refugee Camp Tube Wells Tube well in Rohingya refugee camp

This spring, a fire ripped through the Rohingya Refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The fire spread quickly consuming over 26,000 shelters and leaving over 120,000 people homeless. Sadly, we learned that 15 of the 30 tube wells we installed in the camp were destroyed in the fire.

Now, we’re raising funds to rebuild these wells. By bringing clean water back to the area, we will be helping people who have fled from violence and persecution, who are now rebuilding their lives ones again.

The cost of one tube well in Cox's Bazar is $2,268 CAD.

Honduras Biosand Filters

This biosand filter is a plastic container that filters impurities out of water using layers of sand and gravel. In Honduras, we've installed our 700th biosand filter this year, which means over 700 families are now able to access clean drinking water. Without a biosand filter, families have to pay for weekly water deliveries that are often still unsafe for drinking. With a biosand filter, families can keep their children safe from waterborne illness. Both water and sanitation are essential for child health so we’re really excited about bringing this simple technology to help families in Honduras.

The cost of one biosand filter in Honduras is $245 CAD.

Zimbabwe Drilled Wells

In countries, like Zimbabwe, water is hiding deep below the earth. Drilled wells are the only option to provide clean drinking water.  A large truck with specialized drilling equipment is brought into the community where it bores through the layers of earth to access fresh water.

The cost of one drilled well in Zimbabwe is $25,984 CAD.

Bangladesh Tube Wells Family in rural Bangladesh drinking water

Tube wells are sunk deep into the ground to reach clean sources of water and are used in countries that are closer to sea-level, such as Bangladesh. In rural areas of Bangladesh most families collect water from local ponds, which are not clean and can carry waterborne illnesses. Some families have to travel such far distances to collect water that they miss work and have to choose between earning a daily income or having water to drink. Thanks to these tube wells, we can bring fresh water directly into small communities.

The cost of one tube well in rural Bangladesh is $2,268 CAD.
